20 HOURS OF REQUIRED SERVICE

Parent participation in their child’s school community has been proven to be a benefit to student learning. Studies have shown that when parents are actively involved at school, their child performs better within the classroom. We want all parents to feel welcome and that their participation is a value within this community – for the community as a whole but most importantly, for their child’s success.

As a ministry of La Purisima Catholic Church, five of the 20 service hours must be completed in service to a Church event.

Parents are encouraged to help with the supervision of the students before school, during morning recess, and at lunch recess. Realizing that school hours may not be practical for working parents, a list of other service opportunities will be available at the beginning of the school year. Any family may elect to “buy-out” of this obligation by choosing to pay $400. Any amount of the required hours not met will be billed at $20 per hour and added to your FACTS tuition account at the end of April.

Fundraising Obligation $400

The La Purisima Catholic School community enjoys coming together to raise funds to further enhance the quality programs in place. Fundraising events will be determined by the Administration, the Consultative School Board in conjunction with our supportive parent and parish community. Proceeds from the fundraising events will support the “extras” we desire for our students along with the School’s operating fund.   In the past, these enhancements have included technology and science supplements and labs, tetherball courts, additional playground equipment, and much more.
