Principal’s Message

On September 7, 1965, La Purisima Catholic School opened its doors under the guidance of the Sisters of the Company of Mary, welcoming first through fourth-grade students. Today, our commitment extends to serving the academic, social, and spiritual needs of students from Preschool through 8th grade. La Purisima remains a beacon of God’s grace, proudly continuing the legacy of St. Jeanne de Lestonnac, the revered foundress of the Sisters of the Company of Mary.

I am honored to welcome you to the La Purisima Catholic School website. My name is Rosa Ramirez, and I am privileged to serve as the principal of La Purisima. As an alumna (class of ’88), parent to two graduates (twins, class of ’17), teacher, and now principal, I deeply appreciate the transformative foundation La Purisima provided me. Recognizing the financial challenges associated with investing in a Catholic education, I also understand the invaluable and solid education La Purisima offers through its rigorous academic and religious curriculum.

The environment at La Purisima Catholic School goes beyond preparing students for college; it prepares them for Heaven. Alongside daily Religion classes, students in kindergarten through 8th grades actively plan and attend weekly Mass, retreats, and engage in Family Life and moral development activities. Social justice is a fundamental component, with students from Preschool through 8th grade participating in various initiatives, including supporting the church pantry and the Lestonnac Clinic. Our faculty and staff exemplify Gospel values in their interactions with each other, students, and parents.

In preparation for the future, La Purisima embraces a technology-rich environment. All classrooms are equipped with interactive whiteboards, fostering a creative and curious learning environment. From Kindergarten through 3rd grade, students enjoy a 2:1 device ratio, while 4th-8th graders benefit from a 1:1 device setup, utilizing technology to enhance their innate curiosity and creativity.

We take pride in providing an enriching and engaging environment where students are challenged to reach their potential. Our comprehensive programs cover all academic areas, including Religion, Math, English Language Arts, Science, Social Studies, Physical Education, Music, and Spanish. Students in 5th-8th grades even have the opportunity to apply for advanced Math classes.

I look forward to the opportunity to meet with you and discuss the incredible education your child can receive at La Purisima Catholic School. Please feel free to contact us to schedule a tour today.
