Mrs. Ramirez

Principal

On September 7, 1965, the Sisters of the Company of Mary opened La Purisima Catholic School with first through fourth grade students. Today we serve the academic, social and spiritual needs of students in Preschool through 8th grade. At La Purisima, we continue the legacy of St. Jeanne de Lestonnac, foundress of the Sisters of the Company of Mary, by guiding our students to Fulfill their Name, Extend their Hand and Maintain the Flame. Fifty-two years after our opening, La Purisima Catholic School continues to be a beacon of God’s grace.

It is with great pleasure that I welcome you to the La Purisima Catholic School website. My name is Rosa Ramirez and I have the honor of serving as principal of La Purisima. I truly value and appreciate the foundation La Purisima provided me as a student (class of ’88). As a result, I was determined to provide that same environment for my own children (both class of ’17). As an alumni, parent, teacher and principal of La Purisima, I fully understand the financial challenges of investing in a Catholic education but I also appreciate the solid foundation La Purisima provides through a rigorous academic and religious education.

The environment of La Purisima Catholic School not only prepares students for college, but also prepares them for Heaven. In addition to daily Religion classes, students in kindergarten through 8th grades plan and attend weekly Mass, attend retreats and participate in Family Life and moral development. Students in Preschool through 8th grade participate in various social justice activities throughout the year including assisting with the church Pantry and the Lestonnac Clinic. Faculty and staff model Gospel values in their interaction with each other, students and parents.

As we prepare our students for the future, La Purisima offers a technology rich environment. All classes are equipped with interactive white boards. Students in Kindergarten through 3rd grade have 2:1 devices (2 students for each device) and 4th-8th grade have 1:1 devices (each student has their own device). Technology is used age-appropriately in all grade levels.

At La Purisima, we pride ourselves in providing an enriching and engaging environment where students are challenged to reach their potential. We offer programs in all academic areas including Religion, Math, English Language Arts, Science, Social Studies, Physical Education, Music and Spanish. Students in 5th-8th grades have the opportunity to apply for advanced Math classes.

I look forward to meeting with you to discuss the incredible education your child can receive at la Purisima Catholic School. Please contact us to schedule a tour today.

IT’S A GREAT DAY TO BECOME A CAVALIER!

Rosa Ramirez
