Ms. Cruz was born and raised in Santa Ana, CA. She was part of the SAUSD and continued her education at Concordia University Irvine. She graduated from CUI and received her multiple subject credential and her BA in Liberal Studies with a concentration in English.
Ms. Cruz has prepared for teaching through the courses taken in college, her student teaching, as well as her time as a substitute and tutoring. She completed her student teaching, and was a substitute, in the Santa Ana and Irvine Unified School Districts. Her first placement for student teaching was in Kindergarten, while her second placement was in a 6th grade English Learner classroom. Her coursework focused on differentiating and whole-student learning. Her teaching philosophy is influenced by the strong mentors she had in her years in public education and at a private university.
Ms. Cruz became a part of the La Purisma family as a long-term substitute. She is very excited and blessed to be a Cavalier. She looks forward to guiding and being a part of student learning as the sixth-grade homeroom teacher.
