Mrs. Valdez is a graduate of La Purisima, Marywood High School, and Azusa Pacific University. She earned her BA in Human Development with a minor in English and completed her teaching credential courses at APU. She is working on her MA in Education and hopes to have it completed by next summer.
Mrs. Valdez has been a teacher at La Purisima for 14 years. She began in our preschool then moved to kindergarten. She has been the 5th-grade teacher for the last 10 years.
Her teaching philosophy is influenced by her 8 years of education being taught by Company of Mary sisters and educators, and later by the Sisters of Providence. Those strong, faith-filled women, modeled educating the whole child and person with God at the center. She loves 5th grade and the opportunity to challenge the students to be the best they can be and to prepare them for middle school. She is also looking forward to working with the Student Council this year as a faculty advisor.
Mrs. Valdez will be celebrating her 30th anniversary with her husband in October. She enjoys camping and hiking with her husband and family. Her twin boys are now grown and pursuing their careers. She is thrilled to start another year at L.P. where every day truly is “A Great Day to Be a Cavalier”!
