Miss Medrano was born and raised in Bakersfield, CA. She moved to beautiful Orange County after high school to attend California State University Fullerton. She is a graduate of CSUF and a current student in the PLACE program at Loyola Marymount University. She earned her BS in Kinesiology with an emphasis in Sports Enhancement and Performance. She is working on her MA in Education, clearing her teaching credential by 2019.
Miss Medrano began her teaching career as a volunteer for the Jumpstart Program in the Fullerton School District and served the community for several years. She went on to launch her own TK program through the YMCA, and was promoted to site supervisor for an after school program with the Anaheim Family YMCA. Miss Medrano then became a Catechist and worked at St. Francis of Assisi Parish in Bakersfield, CA. There she was Assistant to the Director of Religious Education and in charge of curriculum for K-12 in the parish’s C.C.D. program before coming to La Purisima.
Her teaching philosophy is influenced by many years of being a student, athlete, and altar server. She grew up playing sports such as soccer, tennis, was a swimmer, and a collegiate rugby player so she knows the value of hard work and dedication. Miss Medrano believes that “Through practice and perseverance, growth happens.” She is a firm believer that in order for growth to occur, students must have a steady foundation- a combination of teamwork, individual performance, and faith in order to be successful.
Miss Medrano is excited to be a Cavalier and parishioner of La Purisima. She looks forward to teaching Third Grade to many years of service to La Purisima.
