Ms. Oi graduated Magna Cum Laude from the Catholic private liberal arts university, the University of Dallas. She earned her BA in Interdisciplinary Studies and received her teacher credential after completing her undergraduate coursework.
Ms. Oi has been studying the art of teaching in depth for countless hours in her college career as well as having student taught in a public school setting for 12 weeks. She has been a Catholic summer camp counselor for over 5 years giving virtue talks and teaching catechism.
Her teaching philosophy is influenced by her years of education being taught by both public and strong Catholic educators. Her Catholic undergraduate coursework focused on whole-child learning, attending to students’ social, emotional, spiritual, and mental development. She is excited to teach 1st grade and the opportunity to encourage the students to be the best community members with a strong foundation in their Catholic faith.
Ms. Oi enjoys playing sports and spending time with her two nephews and one niece. She was also captain of her cheerleading team in high school, a competitive gymnast, and captain of her college ultimate frisbee team.
She is truly blessed to be welcomed in such a great and tight-knit community at La Purisima. She hopes to contribute to the school by following the educational theories of the Company of Mary and is excited to see her students grow in faith and their learning journeys.
